We love to hear what our guests think of Gozo, and to find out what they’ve enjoyed most while holidaying on the island. So, we thought we’d share some of their feedback. If you’re thinking about booking a holiday on Gozo and want to find out what makes Gozo so special, then we hope you find our guests’ words* useful and inspiring:

The local people – Gozitans

[Gozo is] a beautiful island where the people are as warm as the sunshine it basks in, the history is fascinating and the peaceful atmosphere is idyllic. It’s one of the only places in the world that de-stresses me and makes me feel completely at home.

Neil Butterfield

… from the first time we visited Gozo we were made so welcome by the locals, and now after eight years of visiting we consider it our second home! We love the beautiful Island and all it has to offer, and we love the beautiful people who live there.

Sue Gaughan

I wonder where else in the world you’ll see a man walking his two goats and a sheep down the middle of the road everyday [like] in Nadur, or the horse being exercised by the chap sitting in the boot of the car with a rope! Time slows down in Gozo and makes for a truly magical and relaxing holiday.

Helen Wilding

The thing that keeps me returning is the genuine warmth and friendliness of the Gozitans! They really appreciate the beauty of their island and are so happy to share it with us.

Family holidays on Gozo

Family fun on the island of Gozo

…my children love how warm the sea is in October, and they love the gelato van at Ramla … They love how Gozitans talk to you even when you are little, and don’t ignore you because you are a child, and they love, love LOVE the food (especially at Oleander!) And how the rocks around the Azure window make you feel like you’re on the moon!

Emma Lloyd

Gozo is where I relax the most with friends or family by the sea, I love the food and the people are so friendly.

Christianne Spiteri

I’ve had every family holiday there for the last 12 years and would love to take my mum for a change instead of her always taking me! It’s beautifully rugged and quiet! Everything you’d want from a family holiday!

Eilidh Ibbotson

[I’ve visited Gozo] five times with the family and nowhere comes close. It’s the most beautiful island I have ever been to and it feels like a home from home.

Things to do in Gozo

Rock Climbing at Dwejra, Gozo

[Gozo is] an enchanted island where place names are all Xs and Zs; other-worldly churches light up the balmy, salty night; religious parades go bang… wild herbs delight the senses of the clifftop rambler; farm fields roll out like patchwork across age-old, silent hills; chic bathers loll on crazy limestone rock formations…; toddlers paddle and whoop in the Robinson Crusoe waters of Comino’s Blue Lagoon; honey-coloured farmhouse villas with twinkling pools and fiery flowers seduce their guests; donkey rides lead children on mystery tours through the cobbled streets and UNESCO villages…

Ingo Hippisly

…had the most amazing time … visited wonderful places, saw some beautiful sights and saw my first ever lizards running wild on the rocks! Absolutely beautiful place!

Alison Mansworth

Had a tantalising taster of gorgeous Gozo last year with my husband and daughter. Loved the Azure Window, had quick dip in the Inland Sea, and a whizz around the sights by open top bus. Love the character and history of the island.

Kerry Coey

We spent two weeks [on Gozo] diving in the Blue Lagoon, chilling on Ramla Bay beach, visiting the Azure Window, and simply just enjoying the tranquil pace of life of this beautiful island… I simply fell in love with the place. The helicopter ride home was only tinged by sadness because I didn’t want to leave. Stunning place.

Local Gozitan cuisine

If you’re a foodie there’s a plethora of restaurants and cafes to choose from. Indulging in a coffee and cake at Mgarr ix-Xini watching the sun set over the water is one of my favourites! And talking cake, a must visit is Victoria’s Delights in Marsalforn, a hit with the locals and visitors alike

Caroline Sampson

I enjoy having a Cisk [beer] on the balcony at the Gleneagles Bar [in Mgarr] followed by an amazing dinner at Tmun restaurant and I’m never happier than when I’ve hired a speed boat from the nice guy at Xlendi and I’m circumnavigating the island for the day stopping in one of the many beautiful harbours for lunch.

James Pearson

The capital city Victoria is intimate and offers laid-back piazzas in which to sip espresso. If you’re feeling peckish then head to Maxokk Bakery for the finest Gozitan wood-fired pizza, delicious!

Keith Hewett

Gozo’s delicious cuisine [is the best] in terms of taste and freshness. I revel in the fact that I can dine at an exquisite seafront restaurant or grab a mouth-watering pastry from a fresh bakery; both always send my taste buds to heaven. Gozo’s acclaimed cheeselets, savoury pastizzi, wines and beers are gastronomical delights, which are must-tries for foodies.

Gozo’s slower pace of life

[You get] a peaceful tranquil feeling from the minute you step off the ferry. So different to the hustle and bustle of Malta …

Alan Maloney

[Gozo] is a place to unwind, relax and live in the moment away from humdrum daily life. After half an hour’s enjoyable ferry trip, I feel like I’m at a place where time has stood still.

Marianne McLean

Gozo [is] an idyllic island, a charming destination with quaint fishing villages, peaceful bays, sleepy ambience, excellent restaurants, stunning nature sites, wild and rugged scenery, crystal clear waters. What more could I ask for to escape the rat race, relax and enjoy a peaceful holiday!
