Winter in Europe can often be grey, wet and freezing cold. It’s understandable that many people like to escape the chill by chasing the sun to more exotic climes. However, you don’t have to go on a long-haul flight to enjoy a winter break.

Our Mediterranean climate means that winters on Gozo are mild and we get plenty of sunshine. A winter holiday on Gozo is therefore perfect for anyone looking to recharge their batteries for the year ahead.

You can restore your well-being with relaxation therapies and mindful activities such as yoga and painting classes as described in our arts and crafts blog. And if you’re looking for adventure why not explore Gozo’s landscape by hiking, cycling or even scuba diving and rock climbing.

And Gozo has plenty of cultural events throughout winter to please music and art lovers.

There’s always lots of things to do on Gozo. This blog post sets out a few of the things that make Gozo a perfect winter holiday destination.

We can help you relax in our rental properties

At Baron Holiday Homes, we don’t just organise rental properties on Gozo – we aim to help our guests make the most of their precious holiday time. And one of the ways we do this is to offer a wide range of in-house extras.

You can book to have a private chef, a hairdresser, or an expert masseuse to come to your Baron Holiday Home. A poolside massage must be one of the best ways to totally relax!

We can also arrange yoga and aqua yoga classes on the island and even arts and crafts classes to let your creative juices flow.

Our Things To See In Gozo webpage gives you a broad outline of what Gozo offers by way of natural, cultural, and gastronomical delights.

One of the best ways to explore Gozo is on foot and there is even a network of paths that circumnavigate the whole island.

See our blog post Get Out and Walk for a few sample country walking routes. And we’ve also outlined a walking itinerary in Gozo’s Capital Victoria where you can visit such attractions as the Citadel, Gozo Cathedral and watch the world go by in Independence Square.

Two-wheeled fun on Gozo

Cycling is another great way to get out and about on Gozo. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a keen cyclist – there are plenty of routes to suit everyone. We can help organise bike rentals and book guided cycling tours for our guests.

Keen mountain bike enthusiasts may wish to Explore The Beauty of Gozo With Our Three Mountain Bike Trails designed by Baron Holiday Homes’ very own Property Manager, Donald Said.

Alternatively, if you like the idea of cycling but don’t feel fit enough to tackle some of the more challenging hills, then our partner Gozo Segway Tours has a fun solution – simply glide through Gozo on a guided tour on an e-Bike or a Segway.

Have a Gozo Adventure

Sporty types often want to mix relaxation with adventure on their holidays. Luckily, Gozo offers both.

Gozo’s rugged limestone cliffs, sea caves and crags attracts many rock-climbing and abseiling enthusiasts – especially in the milder winter months. And the good news is that Gozo offers something for the total newbie, as well as the more experienced climber.

Our blog post Gozo Will Have You Climbing Up The (Cliff) Wall provides a useful overview of what’s available. And our partner Gozo Adventures offers guided rock-climbing sessions as well as a wide range of other physical activities such as sea-kayaking and scuba diving.

Get into the Christmas Spirit on Gozo

Visitors to Gozo are often surprised by our vibrant annual cultural calendar of arts and music events. From marching bands and processions to pop music and from classical works and opera to folk and jazz, you’ll find it on Gozo.

Christmas is a very special time on Gozo and there are events spread over a whole month. Our blog post You’ll Love Spending Christmas on Festive Gozo describes some our wonderful Christmas traditions. All over the island you’ll find nativity scenes and Gozo even hosts an annual live nativity recreation in the fields surrounding the village of Għajnsielem.

So – why not recharge with a winter holiday on Gozo?
